Receiving Payments

You will only receive child support when the other parent pays, either on his or her own, or through wage deduction. If paying through wage deduction it may take up to 30 days after the issuance of the wage withholding order for the employer to being remittance. Thereafter, the employer is required to remit within 7 days of the payroll deduction. If you are receiving public assistance, your child support payments will go to the state.

Receiving Payments

There are two ways to receive child support payments:

  • Direct Deposit
  • The Ohio smiONE Visa Prepaid Card
You may choose how you would like to receive your child support payments by enrolling online at smartchildsupport.com. If you do not choose an option you will be automatically enrolled in the Ohio smiOne Visa Prepaid Card.

Cardholders may access balance and transaction information by calling Ohio smiONE® Customer Support at 1-855-279-2744. Customers may also log on to the Ohio Child Support Customer Service Portal
